Lighthouse Washing Powder Porcelain Sign

A bright yellow box of Lighthouse Washing Powder tips across the deep navy blue field of this sign, pouring a stream of white powder down toward a silver washtub full of suds. The box art shows a red and white striped lighthouse with a little cartoon helper, plus the slogan Lightens Housework along its side. Down below, Large Package is lettered in yellow next to a big red 5¢, with Armour & Company signed along the bottom, all inside a thin gold pinstripe border with a mounting hole in each top corner and a plain blue back.

At 9 inches wide and 13 inches tall, this tall rectangle is just right for a laundry room, a kitchen nook or a country store display, and it's a fun conversation piece for anyone who collects old household and general store advertising.

Fun fact: The Armour & Company name at the bottom belongs to the big Chicago meatpacker, which made soap for years as a byproduct of meatpacking and went on to introduce Dial soap in 1948.

Please look over the photos closely, as they show the exact sign you'll receive.
